Satinwood (Ceylon)

Satinwood comes from Central and Southern India and Sri Lanka.  It is a golden yellow to orangish brown wood.  Satinwood has interlocking grainsandis a dense wood making it difficult to work with, but it turns, glues, and finishes well.  It is often used for veneers, furniture, turning, and othersmall craft objects.
